Nordiska of Gothenburg, 1960.
Circle 6503 was originally printed on a soft, fine pale blue linen called "Como Linen" and embroidered with white cotton threads.
Nordiska Circle is a great starter kit for anyone who wants to learn embroidery.
It was one of the first three pattern out of the archive in 2018,
and is still one of our most popular designs.
A great pattern to use as a sampler to try different stitches.
Included in this listing:
A hand printed 100% linen panel, 50 x 50 cm
A stitch card or poster with Nordiska's 24 common stitches
A card with a picture showing the original Como linen sampler/Nordiska's pattern from the archive.
This listing does not include threads: use your own thread collection or select colours from our current thread sale HERE
If you like to use a hoop, choose one that is at least 30 cm across, or a smaller one that can be moved as you stitch along.
Our ink is permanent:
the white marks will not wash off, so embroider over the print and cover with extra stitches or use the needle to press the thread to cover the ink more densely.
Linen always look best if it isn't washed.
Nordiska notes from the Needlewoman Shop Catalogue (in the 60s) would say "dry clean only".
We hope you will love this Nordiska treasure just as much as we do!
