Collection: Iris Haberdashery

Iris Haberdashery, established in the 1950s, was a beloved shop in southern Sweden that operated for decades. Iris was a retailer of Nordiska products and many other mid-century brands. 

The majority of Nordiska's original embroideries were sold off long before we found the archive and started to work with the old patterns. With finding Iris' haberdashery we've uncovered a unique collection, featuring pieces embroidered by Nordiska's in-house studio, initially used as shop samples by Iris.

We document each item in Iris' collection, including those not made by Nordiska. 
This documentation will offer a rare glimpse into the history of a Swedish embroidery shop, and our goal is to compile these findings into a booklet and, possibly, an exhibition showcasing Iris' story.
