Collection: Needlewoman Catalogue 1966 Collection

A few weeks ago a lovely person, D, alerted me to a piece of Nordiska history that I had not seen before: it was a 1966 catalogue for Needlewoman Shop, Nordiska's flagship retailer in the UK. This much loved store on Regent Street in London presented and shipped out Nordiska kits to UK embroiderers for many years. 
We had collected all the other catalogues, but this one was missing, until now. 

This catalogue showed that Woodland Deer and Yellow Sparrows were sold in the UK at the same time as Apple Tree, Sunflowers, Summer Joy and the others.  

Only one of these kits were missing from our own collection: the Blue Birds. 
The original 1960s Blue Birds was found in Sweden just days after the catalogue discovery. Today we have it in Bristol and now it's here to ship out, 60 years after this catalogue was first available in the UK. 

I've added this collection today to show how these kits were presented in the 60s: 

Sunflowers, Apple Tree, Enchantment (the blue birds), Bouquet, Reindeer (Woodland Deer), Yellow Sparrows are ready to ship: there are just a few kits per design in stock until more fabric arrives.
