A new taster box with of our most popular linen embroidery threads!
Eight skeins of regular linen embroidery threads, 14 meter per skein
Two skeins of very fine linen thread, 30 meter per skein
One skein of a rare 1960's linen thread, 10 meter long. This kind called hemstitch linen is stranded unlike the others, and will be 40 meter long if fully stranded.
The skein numbers which start with #1 is a soft and smooth thread similar to Knox's of Kilbirnie that was made in the 1960's. It has a matte finish that will be very lustrous once pressed.
You can condition the thread with bee's wax or use it as it is.
Skeins which start with #2 are similar to the vintage Linblomman or Nordiska’s own linen, slightly firmer and more fibrous than Lyster #1.
Three chenille needles will be included in the box: 20, 22 and 24.
The middle size, 22, is used for the regular linen thread, and the smallest needle (24) is used for the finest linen thread.
The needle should make room for the thread to easily pass through the fabric,
slightly larger than the thread doubled, to save it from unnecessary wear.
This set also includes a handy stitch card with 24 common stitches for mid century embroidery, an exact copy of the once written on a typewriter in Nordiska's headquarters in Gothenburg in the 1960's.
The sturdy paper box comes gift wrapped as pictured, with wrapping paper and cotton bias tape.
