We love finding interesting old embroidery threads, neutrals being quite a rare find in 60's embroidery linen hauls, but all the nicer when they do show up.

Here is our current finest vintage and contemporary linen thread collection, packed in a box with two linen samples from an old linen weaving factory (1934 to 1963)
and a panel of our favourite fabric, Fine Linen.

June Linen Treasure Box is a series of 4,
all contain the following rare and beautiful threads:

1 x long skein of Nordiska's fine linen thread, a very beautiful, strong and smooth linen thread used both for embroidery and lace making.  (30m)

One spool of fine machine silk from the late 1800's, found in an old haberdashery south of Copenhagen.

Three skeins of our contemporary linen threads, a very fine natural linen with beautiful lustre (30m) and a pale neutral with a hint of green #116 and a soft pink.

Swedish 60's linen threads, fine and strong, 30m

Two 1960's stranded hemstitch linen, 40 meter if fully stranded, or 10m if used as it is. One colour a rare and beautiful nr #500 from Nordiska, pale eggshell blue or green (these vary)

Variegated linen in soft colours, 55+ meter

Perle embroidery thread, mid century. The shady vary slightly in each box.

One skein of crewel wool from Renaissance Dyeing, natural dyes from France.

Feedsack quilt blocks and a notecard with envelope.

In the sturdy A6 paper box you will also find chenille needles in three sizes,
a notecard with envelope.

Notecard image: Rose Synoptique (1890) by Charles Lacouture. Lacouture was a keen colour theorist and attempted to use three primary colours to create all hues, not by varying the tint of the inks, but by changing the density of intersecting and parallel lines. Envelope included.

If you would like to send this box as a gift to someone, please let us know when you place your order. We will then write your message within the card, gift wrap and send the parcel for you.
