Soft Pink Vintage Linen Box is a series of 10, all contain the following rare and beautiful threads:
1 x late 1800's machine silk Coronet by W.A. & Co (Leek, UK)
2 x mid century Gutermann silk 50 meter each.
(The silk shades vary in each box)
1 x Nordiska linen hemstitch skein, 1960's. This thread is stranded and divides into 4 finer threads. In the old Nordiska kits, three strands were often used together with the regular embroidery thread, to create a more interesting texture.
1 x 30 meter of Swedish 60's lace making linen, beautiful for stitching delicate details.
3 x skeins of our contemporary linen threads
1 x 100m rare cotton embroidery thread for traditional embroidery, West Sweden.
A small twist of 60's linen for fine weaving
A spool of linen
2 x Danish flower thread (the shades vary in each box, all dusty pink)
2 x plant dyed wool skeins
Feedsack fragments
A vintage cloth with birds and plants.
Antique French press studs
Hand-finished baby bow embroidery scissors in smooth black with a monogrammed M for Merchant & Mills. Sharp as an arrow and seriously desirable!
One 50 x 50 cm dusty pink linen fabric is also included.
In the sturdy A6 paper box you will also find chenille needles in three sizes,
a notecard with envelope. The feedsack quilt blocks in the boxes are from a private collection and they vary in each box too.
Notecard image: Colour chart adapted from Edouard Guichard’s L’Harmonie des Couleurs (Harmony of Colours, 1880). Guichard’s book displayed over 1300 colour combinations based on scientific colour space theory and significantly influenced the decorative arts.
