Here is a soft pink collection of our favourite threads,
all packed in a very beautiful mid century linen thread box from Swedish Marks.
The boxes were made between the 1940's and 1960's, all vary slightly and show signs of age. Some times a shop owner will have scribbled numbers or a note.
We have a small lot of these boxes left.
In this box you will find:
One beautiful lustrous peach coloured skein of Knox’s of Kilbirnie's linen embroidery thread from the 1960's, 20 meter
HV linen embroidery thread x 30 meter. This thread was first developed in the 1950's by Swedish textile artist Edna Martin.
Soft vintage cotton threads x 2, both Swedish mid century.
Vintage linen thread, various brands
Perle thread, one skein
A mid century thimble
A soft pink #535 hemstitch linen skein from Nordiska. It's a stranded thread, a kind that has not been in production since the 1960's. It is 10 meter long, or 40 meter if used fully stranded.
Three contemporary linen skeins, all of these are 14 meter per skein.
One skein of mouline embroidery thread, both 8 meter each.
Swedish linen lace thread, 30 meter of a very lovely strong and smooth linen thread.
A Victorian lace thread, also linen.
One antique Gutermann silk spool of 50 meter, the shades vary in each box as we did not have 8 of the same colour of this old beautiful pure silk thread.
Three chenille needles and a Japanese vintage pin on a 1960's embroidery paper cut: size 20, 22 and 24.
Three pieces of Donegal tweed
Two 1940's quilt pieces, these were noted feedsacks, and all patterns vary in each box. Some of the boxes contain Japanese silk too, and a little vintage cotton previously used in our Peony boxes.
The box will come gift wrapped in tissue paper and cotton bias tape.
